The management of flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Monday announced that it has successfully signed a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with the PAL Employees Association (PALEA) for better employment terms.
PAL executive vice president, treasurer and chief administrative officer Vivienne Tan and PALEA president Edgardo Oredina inked the CBA.
"I join my father [PAL chairman and CEO Dr. Lucio Tan] in the hope that with this landmark CBA, all of us will work even more in making a meaningful contribution to enable our beloved Philippine Airlines reach greater heights and serve the Filipinos well," Tan was quoted as saying in a statement released by the airline.
The statement added that Oredina vowed that PAL's ground rank-and-file employees will continue to cooperate with the management.
"Together, we will work as a united PAL family, committed to ensuring industrial peace for the greater good," he said.
PAL has a workforce of over 6,800, of whom 11 percent are members of PALEA. — Dona Magsino/BM, GMA News
